God’s way for Finding “Every State Contentment”
The process for removing emotional pain and addictive behaviors used in this study began as a secular program developed by a behavioral psychologist the 1980’s. It was an intense seven week lock-up program for persons with severe behavior problems.
Ron Wilkins completed the program, after which he served five and a half years in prison. Ron had a Bible background and recognize that all methods in the program had a Biblical basis. He enhanced the program by adding scriptural support and began teaching other inmates. The program came to the attention of the prison authorities who decided to make it a sanctioned class offered to all prisoners . Upon his release Ron continued to teach the method, with his first presentation outside prison walls being in 1995 to an audience of over five hundred people.
Wayne Leeper, a retired accountant, has spent 40 years as a Bible teacher, minister, author and lecturer while practicing his profession of Accounting. In 2005, during some of the darkest days of his life, Wayne attended a workshop on emotional pain conducted by Ron. Seeing the need in his own life for this material, Wayne arranged to became a student. The student/teacher relationship soon grew to that of close personal friends and professional collogues. At the time Wayne was writing to a number of inmates in state prisons and recognized the value of this material for the men with whom he was corresponding.
Together Ron and Wayne added additional scriptures and designed correspondence program which has since been incorporated into a book entitled, God’s Way for finding “Every State Contentment.” The title is taken from Paul’s statement in Philippians 4:11. The material has been taught in lectures and workshops throughout the Southeastern United States. In January, 2008 the material was adopted as a training program in the Wilson County Jail.
Ron passed from this earth on April 10, 2008. In keeping with his’ promise to Ron, Wayne is carrying on the work Ron began and the two perfected. It was Ron’s dream and is Wayne’s prayer that thousands may have their lives improved by this study.
